Home Valley station is a working cattle station with an interesting history nestled at the foot of the Cockburn Ranges. The station has a close working relationship with its traditional owners and offers training and employment opportunities to the local indigenous people.
The walk up Mount Baldy offers magnificent views of the Cockburn Ranges, especially at sunset, where you can drink in the entire escarpment drenched in golden light in one vista. Bindoola Gorge is also worth the hike with its craggy cliffs, sweeping waters and tropical fringing vegetation.
You can also enjoy the iconic outback scenery on a slow paced horse ride and by the end of it you will understand why Baz Luhrmann was inspired to film his movie Australia here.
The station has excellent camping facilities and one of the best restaurants in remote Australia with its funky rustic outback design that will urge your own back garden renovations. After a day of hiking, where else can you eat fancy deserts next to uplit boab trees?
